“The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is a truly magical wine, and I’m probably underrating this beauty by a point. All varietal from a site just next to Bella Oaks, it reveals a dense purple hue to go with sensational notes of crème de cassis, darker currants, loamy earth, iron, and espresso. Deep, full-bodied, and powerful, yet incredibly layered, flawlessly balanced, and light on its feet, it reminds me slightly of the 2013. It offers pleasure even today yet deserves 4-6 years of bottle age and will evolve for 30 years in cold cellars. This is sensational juice.”
Serving Instructions:

Decant back into the bottle and drop the temperature to 60 degrees.
“With only about three acres under vine, Greer will be a new name to many consumers, despite having been in existence as a wine label since the 2007 vintage. Located on Manley Lane in Rutherford, across from Staglin and abutting Morisoli and Joseph Phelps’s Manley Lane vineyard (an important Insignia component), it’s a fabulous location, and with the wine made by Aaron Pott, I was blown away by the quality of the 2018 (98 points) and 2019 (97 points) vintages.”
